Getting started

Account setup, agent installation on a Linux Docker host, and your first scan.

Create your account

Pick a plan on the pricing page — no credit card is required to browse. Checkout runs through Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record) and lands you in the Vertix dashboard, where you create your organization.

  • Choose Starter, Growth or Pro on /pricing and complete guest checkout
  • Create your organization and invite team members
  • Your plan entitlements (agents, public assets, retention) apply immediately

Deploy your first agent

The agent is a Docker bundle that runs on a Linux host inside your network. It connects outbound only — no inbound firewall rules, no VPN, no exposed management ports.

  • In the dashboard, create an agent and give it a name — you receive a single-use enrollment token and a download bundle
  • The bundle contains docker-compose.yml, agent.yaml, deploy.sh and a README
  • Copy it to a Linux host with Docker Engine + the Compose plugin, then run the deploy script
On your Linux Docker host
unzip vertix-agent-<agent-id>.zip && cd vertix-agent-<agent-id>
./deploy.sh

The deploy script redeems the enrollment token, writes the agent credentials, and starts the containers. The agent dials out over TLS 1.3 and shows Online in the dashboard.

Requirements

  • Linux host with plain Docker Engine + the Compose plugin (the tested install target)
  • Host-level (root) access — the agent container runs network_mode: host for real network discovery
  • 2 GB RAM and 10 GB disk
  • Outbound TCP 443 only
  • Native macOS and Windows host support is on the roadmap

Run your first scan

From the agent card, trigger a Simple-mode Network or Internal scan. Vertix Radar discovers live hosts and services first, then routes targeted scanners (Nuclei, testssl.sh, ssh-audit — plus OpenVAS, Trivy and ZAP on Growth+) to matching endpoints. Findings stream into the dashboard with EPSS and CISA KEV enrichment.

To scan public-facing assets, add them under External assets and complete ownership verification first — see the External assets doc.
